The first Aviation Monography of 11Aviation is dedicated to the evolution of Aircraft carriers from 1910 until today, along with their historical route and the simultaneous development of the Navy Aviation.It describes in seven chapters the effort of the USA, Great Britain, France and Japan to build the first ships which will be capable to carry out take offs and landings of military aircrafts on them, opening a new big chapter in the way wars will be fought. The Monography also includes the action and evolution of the aircraft carrier during the two World Wars, in the middle of the war and postwar as well as how the situation is today. The reader who is not required to have any special knowledge fully understands how a modern aircraft carrier operates and what its capabilities are. The text is full of over 100 color and B&W photos as well as drawings and artistic depictions. There is a special reference to the aircraft carriers of smaller countries as well as the other wars they took part like in Korea, Suez, Iraq etc. The last chapter is dedicated to navy aircrafts highlighting the rich photographic coverage of F-14, F-18, EA-6B, E-2C during their take offs and landings on the big Americanaircraft carriers. It is the first time a book-monography has beenpublished with this theme in the Greek language.
